Sana Shaikh has come a long way from being a radio jockey to grabbing the lead role in Zee TV's primetime show - Mera Naam Karegi Roshan. Every woman dreams of settling down in life after a picture perfect wedding and Sana is no different. She is getting married to Shahrib of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame soon and wishes to take a break from acting. She had informed the producers of Mera Naam Karegi Roshan well in advance to look for her replacement.

Amrapali Dubey will replace Sana Shaikh as Reet in the serial. She is an established TV actress and her last serial was Rehna Hai Teri Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein. She is also pursuing a career in music. Working for Zee TV is homecoming for her after acting in Zee TV's Saat Phere and Maayka.

"I'm excited about playing the lead in Mera Naam Karegi Roshan. More excited about sharing the screen space with established actors like Lubna Salim, Vikram Gokhale, Yashpal Sharma and Amardeep Jha. The story has taken a very interesting turn where Reet won't be a reticent girl any longer. She'll become this headstrong girl who for the sake of her father and her love will even contemplate murder. The story will now show how she becomes a widow of a man who she never even married," says Amrapali.

Zee TV’s show ‘Mera Naam Karegi Roshan’ is trying hard to fetch TRPs bringing new twists and turns in the story. As per the latest news, the male lead character ‘Yagya’ (played by Sufi Malhotra) will turn negative because of Reet's indifferent behaviour.

Recently, it was reported that Amrapali Dubey will replace Sana Sheikh as the female lead 'Reet'. It is reported that the new male character will enter the show opposite Reet soon. Before this, there will be major twist in the story as Reet will be shown murdering her fake husband Bheeshm.

The new character will enter the show after the murder of Bheeshm and then Yagya turns negative. A source was quoted saying that Reet was forced to say that she is married to Bheeshm to save the honor of her father or else he will be jailed. Even after being married to Yagya, Reet declares that Bheeshm is her husband and he in turn, tries to rape her. Then Reet kills him while saving her honor.

Vandana Joshi, a former contestant in Zee TV’s dance reality show “Dance India Dance” (DID) has been given a break on the channel’s latest offering “Dil Se Diya Vachan”.

The Delhi-based girl will play the female lead in the show that is about friendly relationship between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law.

“‘Dance India Dance’ changed my life and the offer to play the lead role in a serial is like a dream come true. My passions in life have always been dancing, performing on stage, travelling and learning new things. I am sure acting in a serial will fulfill all of them,” Vandana said in a press statement.

Explaining the reason behind choosing Vandana for the role, Sukesh Motwani, programming head (Fiction), Zee TV said: “Nandini is not the usual protagonist and the character had to be played by someone who is mature, grounded, practical, sincere and very dedicated in real life. Vandana fits the bill very well as we have seen the above- mentioned qualities in her during her stint at ‘DID’.”

This is not the first time that the channel has given a platform to its reality show contestants. Binny Sharma, who was one of the finalists on “Dance India Dance” too was given a chance in their show “Sanjog Se Bani Sangini”.

Here is a shocking news for all the fans of Zee TV’s popular show ‘12/24 Karol Bagh’! It is reported that the much loved show by Sunshine production is going to end soon. The show was famous for its realistic approach of the storyline. It became the first entertainment show, which was shot outside Mumbai. It is a Delhi-based show and has been shot in the capital only.

The final episode of ‘12/24 Karol Bagh’ will be aired on October 15. A source was quoted saying that the channel has decided to end the show. The show has earned a decent rating for the channel on the 7pm slot. The channel now wants to try a brand new show at the same time, the source added.

Zee TV is strengthening its weekday primetime with a new fiction. The channel is replacing Karol Bagh with a new show Dil Se Diya…Vachan, starting 25 October at 7 pm.

Vachan unfolds the story of Kalyani – A gynecologist by profession, an ideal mother and an ideal wife who leads a life dedicated to the service of humanity in Pune.

The news was confirmed by producer Sudhir Sharma. He was quoted saying that it is true that ‘12/24 Karol Bagh’ will conclude on October 15.

Sukesh Motwani, fiction head of Zee TV, also confirmed that the channel is bidding adieu to the show. But he did not disclose anything about the new show which will replace ‘12/24 Karol Bagh’ in the 7 pm slot. The channel is now preparing to launch a new show titled ‘Dil Se Diya Vachan’, which is being produced by Film Farm. So, this is expected to take the 7 pm slot. However, nothing is confirmed yet.

In Zee TV’s ‘Pavitra Rishta’, after the leap, the biggest surprise was the trendy new look of leading lady Archana (Ankita Lokhande) which had taken a 360 turn and had given a new identity to her character. According to the track, she was appointed as the senior supervisor in a company, so her look was adjusted appropriately. But recent developments in the track have lead the creative team to change her look back to the previous one.

A source from the set informed us, “Actually, with the on going track, Archana’s trendy look was not suiting her character because Archana is fighting to get Manav (Sushant Singh Rajput) out of jail by going against her company's policy. So to give her an authentic look, she had been asked to change her present hair style look and go back with the previous one.”

An insider also told us, “Ankita was increasing her make-up and getting fancier hair styles day by day which, beyond a certain point, doesn't suit the simplicity of her character. Therefore, she will be seen with the previous look with a simple hair-do and light make up."

We tried to reach Ankita Lokhande but she remained unavailable for comment.

Actress Shweta Tiwari is set to shake a leg on Zee TV's serial Sanjog Se Bani Sangini as part of a wedding scene.

Shweta is said to add an extra zing to the show as Additi Gupta's character Pihu ties the knot with Abhay played by Raunak Ahuja in the show.

She chose to dance to the song Aaja we maahi tera rasta udik diya from the film Heena, moving away from more recent Bollywood numbers played during weddings.

"It's time to revive the magic of this fabulous Heena, number. While the rest of the world is busy with the Bole Chudiyas and Mahi Ve, I thought why not revisit a beautiful track from the past?" said Shweta.

The show has Iqbal Khan and Bini Sharma in lead roles while Additi Gupta plays Iqbal's former fiancee in the show, who dumps him due to his aggressive behaviour and is getting married to someone else.
