Popular television actress Shweta Tiwari won Bigg Boss season 4 after 14 weeks of her stay in closed boundaries, becoming the first woman to be crowned winner of this reality show. Salman Khan congratulated Shweta Tiwari on her victory.

"I have won because of your love. I am very happy," she said to the audience after being announced the winner. On where she would spend the prize money, Tiwari, a single mother, said "I will use this for future of my daughter."

An overwhelmed and emotional Shweta, dressed in a fuschia-coloured sari, burst into tears after seeing her daughter and mother when she came on to the stage.

The actress, once regarded as small screen's favourite bahu (daughter-in-law) after she gained fame with Kasautii Zindagii Kay, pipped finalists WWE wrestler The Great Khali, actor Ashmit Patel and Dolly Bindra who is infamous for her bizarre behavior, to win the reality show.

Though the decision was based on viewers' votes, Shweta's inmates like Samir Soni, Manoj Tiwari and Aanchal Kumar felt she was most deserving owing to her patience in dealing with the verbal fights with loud mouthed co-participant Dolly, who walked away as the third runner up. During her stay in the house, Shweta was active in the household chores and her behaviour was cool and composed throughout the show.

Khali was declared the first runner up. Ashmit was the second runner-up.

The grand finale saw performances by Sara Khan, Veena Malik, Aanchal Kumar and Manoj Tiwari.

The only contender who didn't seem too pleased with the verdict was Dolly, who had incessant verbal fights with Shweta almost throughout the show's 14-week run.

Salman Khan regaled the audience with his energetic presentation. Ashmit said he shared a good bond with Shweta, and that the award was well deserved.

Manoj performed a great dance. Sameer Soni received Aalsi award. mein Hun Mein award went to Veena Malik. She danced to popular Sheila Ki jawani tune.

This time the fatigue of seeing Veena Malik was less. Hopefully it will be some time before we see her and by that time the fatigue would have worn out to least. By the way, is she looking at least 10 years older than when she came in?

Bejan Daruwalla predicted that Shweta Tiwari or Dolly Bindra will win. He predicted that Salman Khan will host next Big Boss show too. Kan Khau award went to Sara Khan. Drama Baaz award went to Manoj Tiwari.

It was amazing to see the crowd chanting Shweta’s name. Shweta had said she will spend the money on her daughter. She was choking while giving thanks. Her daughter palak was emotional too. Her mother was so cool.

Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari, the latest to be evicted out of reality show Bigg Boss 4, admits that his wife doubts his loyalty due to actress Shweta Tiwari, but clarifies that he knows her only professionally.

"I do have issues in my marriage. My wife has always doubted my relationship with Shweta, but I never told Shweta about it until we met in Bigg Boss. I never felt the need to tell her because we hardly used to meet otherwise. I always knew her only professionally," Manoj told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

The actor, singer and director, who has been living separately from his wife and daughter for the past few months, says if he had any romantic involvement with Shweta, it couldn't have been hidden on a show like Bigg Boss.

"In Bigg Boss, we were in a house where there are cameras 24X7... you cannot hide feelings and emotions all the time. So if there was anything between us, it would have come through once or twice. But there was and there is nothing between Shweta and me," said Manoj, who has featured in Bhojpuri films like Sasura Bada Paise Wala and Daroga Babu I Love You.

Shweta, who became a household name after the success of Kasautii Zindagii Kay on the small-screen, is separated from Raja Chaudhary, and lives with her daughter Palak. When she came to know about the concern of Manoj's wife, she decided to clear matters after Bigg Boss 4.

But Manoj says it is no longer required. "I told Shweta that I have been trying to convince my wife and I can handle this alone. I was never good friends with Shweta, I just shared a cordial relation with her. We became friends in Bigg Boss and I did not like the fact that she went against me towards the end of my stay. I don't think I can connect with her anymore," the 45-year-old said.

"My issue is that when Shweta and Samir (Soni) came to know that Ashmit (Patel) was bitching about me, why didn't they tell me? As friends they should have been honest. I was extremely frustrated when I left the Bigg Boss 4 house because I felt cheated, not because I was evicted," he said.

Though Manoj feels "relaxed" after being out of the show, he says it is hard to digest the fact that Ashmit received more votes from the public to stay on the show.

"I am amazed that Ashmit got more votes than me! I cannot believe it still! But I guess the fake Ashmit Patel-Veena Malik story is being liked by everyone and I am sure it is the channel's decision to keep them in," he said.

The Oshiwara police on Friday night arrested Bhojpuri actor Raja Chaudhary after a police officer lodged a complaint against him for committing affray at his girlfriend’s home in Oshiwara. Chaudhary’s allegedly attacked his girlfriend Shradha Sharma, who is undergoing treatment at Sujay Hospital in Juhu. The police have booked Sharma but will arrest her after she is discharged from hospital.

According the police, they received a call just after noon that Chaudhary was creating a ruckus at Sharma’s residence. Hearing loud commotion and knowing the cause for it, the neighbours alerted the police.

“A police constable was sent to Sharma’s residence, who witnessed Chaudhary and Sharma in a scuffle. Based on his information, a complaint was registered with the Oshiwara police station,” said KMM Prasanna, deputy commissioner of police (zone 9).

According to Flynn Remedios, Sharma’s manager and secretary, Chaudhary entered her house around 3am on Friday using an extra pair of keys. He slept in the living room. Around 10am, when Sharma woke up, she refused to let him in her bedroom. Angry, Chaudhary reportedly broke the door and assaulted her. “She has sustained bruises and scratches all over her body and was rushed to the hospital by the neighbours,” said Sources.

“We sent Chaudhary for medical examination to ascertain whether he was under the influence of alcohol when the incident took place. The reports for the same have come positive. We are now waiting for Sharma to be discharged from the hospital following which we will be arresting her as well. Chaudhary has been sent to the general lock up at Andheri,” Sources said.

Sharma’s neighbours have often complained to her as well as the police about the inconvenience caused by the couple to the residents.

Chaudhary was in the limelight recently for slapping his former wife Shweta Tiwari, who had lodged a non-cognisable complaint against him with the Malad police for the same.

She played the role of Prerna in Balaji Telefilms's popular television show Kasautii Zindagii Kay that used to be aired on an Indian television channel STAR Plus, for which she has received many awards. As an Actress

While playing Khoobsoorat Bahu on stage, Shweta got noticed by a well-known director and started her acting career in 1999 with Kaleerein. She also took part in the reality show Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, where she faced controversy over her shower in the jungle.

On 3 October 2010, she became part of the Indian television reality show, Bigg Boss 4, hosted by Salman Khan.

As a Producer

Shweta is also a producer and is producing television serials and films.

Personal life

In 1998 at the age of 18, Shweta married actor Raja Chaudhary. They divorced nine years later. The couple has a daughter named Palak.

Abhinav was also seen on the sets of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 3, which Shweta Tiwari anchored. Abhinav would come on the sets with homemade food for Shweta but was very careful not to be seen with her to avoid public attention. It was a very filmi situation.

Shweta was just separated from her husband; Abhinav was just finding his bearings in the TV world. Sparks were flying between them, but both tried to ward off their feelings.

Actress Shweta Tiwari is set to shake a leg on Zee TV's serial Sanjog Se Bani Sangini as part of a wedding scene.

Shweta is said to add an extra zing to the show as Additi Gupta's character Pihu ties the knot with Abhay played by Raunak Ahuja in the show.

She chose to dance to the song Aaja we maahi tera rasta udik diya from the film Heena, moving away from more recent Bollywood numbers played during weddings.

"It's time to revive the magic of this fabulous Heena, number. While the rest of the world is busy with the Bole Chudiyas and Mahi Ve, I thought why not revisit a beautiful track from the past?" said Shweta.

The show has Iqbal Khan and Bini Sharma in lead roles while Additi Gupta plays Iqbal's former fiancee in the show, who dumps him due to his aggressive behaviour and is getting married to someone else.
