Eid ul-Fitr is sometimes also known as the “Smaller Eid” as compared to the Eid al-Adha, which lasts four days following the Hajj and is casually referred to as the “Greater Eid”. Although in Southeast Asian countries, Eid-ul-Fitr is considered “greater” than Eid al-Adha and is the most important feast for muslims there.

Salman Khan has ample reason to look forward to Eid this year. The actor’s film Dabangg’s release coincides with Eid-ul-fitr tomorrow (9th September, 2010). Salman has been creating a buzz around his film and has managed to rope in quite a few supporters for his film from the film industry. The beefy star wished his fans on Twitter, “If you watch the film in Dubai tonight then you know what to do after you see the movie. And Eid mubarkh to everybody in advance.”

Amitabh Bachchan warmly wished Salman luck for his film and his fans too, “Salman! All good wishes for ‘Dabangg’ – promos and song ‘Munni ..’ fantastic!…Greetings and wishes in advance for Eid…Happiness, joy, love, forgiveness, regard, understanding, celebration.”

Ajay Devgan kept it simple and sweet, “Festivity begins- Eid mubaarak & Ganpati Bappa Moriya. Happiness, health and prosperity to all. Look forward to the season.” Siddharth Malhotra, whose film We Are Family released last week wished his fans and friends, “Eid mubarak in advance and do let me know what you felt!”
